This year’s celebration seeks to continue to build awareness of and advocate for an end to all forms of gender-based violence in education once and for all.
The campaign also focuses on strategies by groups, organizations and governments around the globe to call for the elimination of all forms of violence against women and girls.
Meanwhile, the 16-day period also highlights other significant dates such as November 29, International Women Human Rights Defenders Day, December 1: World Aids Day and December 3: International Day of Disabled Persons. Others are December 6, Anniversary of the Montreal Massacre, December 10, International Human Rights Day.
