The Ad-Hoc Elections Committee of the Publishers Association of Liberia (PAL) has received, vetted and qualified five candidates to contest various positions for the Association’s pending July 22, 2017, elections.

The Publisher of Hot Pepper Newspaper Mr. Philibert S. Browne is the lone candidate for President; the Publisher of New Dawn Newspaper, Mr. Othello Garbla, also the lone candidate for Vice President.
The Publisher of National Watchdog Newspaper Mr. Moses Togba is also the only candidate for the post of Secretary General, while the Publisher of the Informer Newspaper Mr. Darkollie Sumo and the Publisher of Public Agenda Newspaper, Mr. Abrahim Dozon, are the two candidates for the post of Financial Secretary. Official campaign begins Tuesday, July 18, 2017 and ends midnight Thursday, July 20, 2017.
The poll will open at 8am and closes at 3pm on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at the offices of the Concord Times Newspaper on 120 Ashmun Street in Monrovia. Candidates are advised to submit the names of their representatives to the polls to the Committee before the election on July 22, 2017.
Meanwhile the committee invites the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) and other pro-democracy organizations to observe the election.
