-Mary Broh Called Into Action By Pres. Sirleaf
Self-proclaimed ‘hurricane,’ Madam Mary Broh was in action Thursday at the Bureau of Vital Statistics, a section at Ministry of Gender, Children & Social Protection, to clear it of heap of grime stockpiled there.

Dirty Bureau 9x6Madam Broh, Director of the General Services Agency (GSA), is heading a presidential task force set up by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to clean Monrovia. In line with her duties, the ‘no nonsense’ former acting City Mayor Thursday moved on the ministry, mainly the Birth Certificate Section, where there was a reported pile of grime.

Eye witnesses said she accompanied President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who had gone to the Ministry allegedly upon hearing of the dirtiness of the Birth Certificate Section.

An eyewitness who did not want to be named said the Liberian leader and Madam Broh early went at the Section and asked everyone out from the area to be cleaned by Madam Broh and her team.

The eyewitness further told this paper that Broh and her team broke into the offices and begin to throw everything out without taking notice of processed birth certificates and other essential documents.

“We were shocked this morning at the office when we saw this huge escort entering the compound asking everyone in the office to get out. Madam Broh purposely came to target this section for exterior motives, but as far we are concern, those offices used by us are not dirty and our section clean as you can see for yourself,” the eyewitness said.

Our reporter who covered the events observed that the birth certificate section was greatly affected by the cleaning exercise as all doors were locked and those processing their birth certificates were seen standing frustrated without hope especially after waking up early morning and transporting themselves to receive their documents.

The Frustrated Clients

Those processing their birth certificates that have gone at the Ministry were seen standing deserted and totally frustrated as they were perhaps wondering whether the exercise backed by the Liberian chief executive wouldn’t affect their chances of getting the certificates after wasting lot of time and energy to be at the section every day.

“I came early this morning to get the form to fill in for the birth certificate. This situation is very embarrassing and I wanted my documents correct because I am on a program. Seeing this thing happening is embarrassing to me. I urgently want my document,” ArmehToure, a frustrated Liberian who has gone to get a certificate said.

For Oscar Kpollah, he has been processing his documents for the past two weeks. According to Kpollah, he was scheduled on June 15, 2017 for his certificate, but the action is a serious setback to him.

“When we got here this morning, we saw the whole place overcrowded as we were told that they are cleaning up, and we decided to stand and watch what was going on. The unfortunate part is that we never had any prior notice that such was to go on. This is a setback for us,” Oscar Kpollah indicated.

When contacted while in her working regalia, Madam Broh, who refused to talk on tape, told our reporter that the area was dirty and there was a need to have it cleaned. Broh indicated that her team has just gone to clean the vicinity.

“Just take a look. As you can see, the place is dirty. You can even talk to the people who have come to get their certificates today, okay,” she said. First Episode: Broh is reportedly on record for ordering the demolition of the previous wall at the ‘old Health Ministry’ where the birth certificate section still operates.  Her Presidential Taskforce usually rapidly responds to any public project the President wants to see implemented without fear or delay.
