It was a scene of attraction on the grounds of the Capitol Building when Grand Cape Mount County Senator, Cllr. Varney Sherman Thursday, May 11, 2017 fell off unconscious.

Sherman Collapsed 9x6The incident occurred just few minutes to the start of the official program marking the endorsement ceremony of Vice President Joseph N. Boakai presidential bid by 19 out 30 senators of the Liberian Senate.

Senator Sherman, who forms part of the 19 Senators pledging support to the presidential bid of VP Boakai, had gone to be a part of the occasion when he met his ordeal and was quickly rushed to the country’s biggest referral hospital, the John F. Kennedy Medical Center.

The Grand Cape Mount County, who in an attempt to drop to the ground and went unconscious, was quickly attended to by those who have gone to witness the occasion and was being carried as a young child in the hands of some young men attending the program.

Though the cause of this is yet to be established by medical authorities, but many believed that this is as a result of increased heat wave within the rotunda of the Capitol Building which was jammed parked with Liberians from all walks of life that have gone to witness the program.

The indicted Senator in the ongoing Global Witness bribery case who is also former chairman of the ruling Unity Party has just returned from seeking medical treatment abroad, after asking the court to grant him medical leave.

It can be recalled that during the start of the ongoing Global Witness bribery case, Sen. Sherman requested the court to grant him medical leave of between two to three weeks and it was granted him.

Meanwhile, according to reliable information reaching this paper late Thursday, it was revealed that Senator Sherman has been discharged and sent home where he is recuperating.
