-Cape Mount Representative Aspirant Alarms
Grand Cape Mount County District#1 representative aspirant Kebelu H. Konneh has alarmed over the poor health care delivery system in Fula Camp, Gola Konneh District.

Speaking to this paper over the weekend in the county, Konneh said citizens of Fula Camp and its environs currently do not have any clinic or health facility least to mention the rainy season.
"During my visit to Gola Konneh and Porkpa Districts because both comprised of district#1, I visited Fula Camp and other towns along the road, there are series of problems they are encountering, but the most important one right now is that there is no healthcare facility.
“The current health situation in Fula Camp and Varney Town is very, very bad, the health situation in Fula Camp and Varney Town is bad to the extent that no one is there one except a brother of mine, Thomas Moiklee, with a certificate in nursing, is assisting with the healthcare delivery, people are able to live there with him,” the representative hopeful indicated.
“No access to roads, so when someone gets sick there they are taken to Tahn, Lofa Bridge or Varguay to the nearby clinic, and I can tell you that the distance on motorbike is approximately three hours. Just imagine if you are traveling on a moving object that will take you three hours, and with walking it takes about seven hours. The people are living in a deplorable condition,” Kebelu noted.
He said pregnant women, physically challenged and underage children who are unable to walk long distances at times fall prey to common diseases including malaria and typhoid which at times result to their deaths.
For education, he observed that the various communities are trying a little bit, but teachers that are there helping the children are not on government`s payroll, they are only serving as volunteers.
The Grand Cape Mount County District#1 representative aspirant used the occasion to call on the Government of Liberia through the Ministries of Health as well as Public Works to urgently intervene into the situation to further prevent the loss of many lives in the area.
He donated food and non-food items to several mosques in the district ahead of the Ramadan celebration.
Items donated include five bags of 25 kg rice, 30 gallons of gas, and sporting materials among others valued over LD$29,000.00
Konneh added that the gesture is intended to identify with Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan.
Lofa Bridge, Tahn, Zimmi Dandai, Weajue and Butter Hill are worship centers that benefited from the donation.
