-LICOSSES Cautions Education Stakeholders; Warns Against Scare-Game
The chief administrative officer of the LICOSESS Mobile Teacher Training College, Benjamin Wehye is calling on education stakeholders to stop playing politics with education in post-conflict Liberia.

According to Wehye, those calling for the postponement of the West African Senior Secondary Certificate examination are playing scare games and trying to politicize education in Liberia.
Wehye challenged education stakeholders to build the courage of Liberian teachers, then the teachers will in return build the educational courage of their students in Liberia.
He disclosed that calling for the postponement of the WASSCE is not speaking in the interest of the Liberian students, but rather making the students to feel weak about taking their educational sojourn seriously.
The chief Administrative Officer of the LICOSESS Mobile Teacher Training College added that the call from some school administrators that Liberia is not ready for WASSCE has the propensity of making students in Liberia not to take challenge in the educational sector.
Wehye said in everything, there must be the first time and he is of the conviction that Liberian students will do well in WASSCE for the first time; adding that he believes in the capacity of the students.
Wehye was quick to note that the WASSCE has many opportunities that other school administrators do not understand and are calling for the postponement of the Examinations that will assist students to get greater advantage in other public tests in the nearby future.
According to him, in WASSCE, students do not actually fail, but assists them to know where their strength lies in various subjects.
In a related development, Wehye disclosed that the LICOSESS Mobile Teacher Training College is presently operating in several counties in Liberia, noting that teachers in those counties are in dying needs for higher education.
The chief Administrative Officer of the LICOSESS Mobile Teacher Training College said they are presently in Sinoe, Gbapolu, Grand Bassa (LAC), Grand Gedeh, and Nimba Counties amongst many others.
He used the occasion to call on all Liberians to join hands with the government of Liberia to push the developmental agenda of Liberia, adding that the government alone cannot do all in the areas of development.
“The literacy rate of Liberia is gradually improving on a daily basis, evidence by the way Liberians are now handling things including legal proceedings and are buttressing the government’s efforts to train more teachers in the country,” he said.
