-To Extend Students` Registration; Donates 500K

The political leader of the All Liberian Party (ALP), Benoni Urey has appealed to the administration of the University of Liberia for the administration to extension the registration process of the students.

Urey`s intervention is a result of several appeals made by 8,000 of the University who according to one of the student unions said they are yet to complete their registration process due to the lack of finance.

Urey said he believes that accepting the appeal would help students who have not registered due to some financial difficulties to complete their registration through him and other well-meaning Liberians.

“I want to use this occasion to appeal to the University of Liberia to extend the registration process to one or two more weeks and we are praying to God that they will listen to us. Once again, please extend registration by two more weeks so that we can work with these students to ensure that they get back to school,” Urey pleaded with UL administration.

Urey made the appeal Wednesday, May 17, 2017 when he served as chief launcher of the University of Liberia Student Union (ULSU) scholarship fund drive on the main campus of the university on Capitol Hill in Monrovia.

The political leader of the ALP at the same time donated half of million Liberian dollars in to tone of L$ 500,000.00 as initial contribution towards the scholarship process of the ULSU.

However, Urey challenged all political parties in the country to contribute towards the scholarship process of the University of Liberia by donating the equivalent in cash of US$ 100,000.00 for vehicle.

“I want to challenge all the political parties in Liberia, let each of us send one vehicle to help these children. I mean let us donate one of our US$100,000.00 vehicles each or its equivalent in cash to help these students get back in school,” Urey challenged other political parties.

He akso used the occasion to call on all businesses and other well-meaning Liberians in the country to come to the aid of students at the University of Liberia to enable them continue their educational sojourn.
