-Citizen of Doe Administrative District In Nimba Calls
A Concerned citizen of Doe Administrative district in Tappita Statutory District, electoral district #9 in Nimba County is  calling on the National Elections Commission (NEC) to disqualify Dr. Michael Slawon from contesting the impending October’s elections in the country.

Dan Sherman alleged he has since written the Chairman of the NEC officially informing it of Dr. Slawon current status in the Liberian Government as Director-General of the Commission on Higher Education.
He reminded NEC that Dr. Slawon was appointed by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and commissioned in 2010 as Director-General of the Commission on Higher education and currently the chairman of the Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA) and serving as member on the Board of all the Community Colleges in the Republic of Liberia.
It can be recalled Dr. Michael P. Slawon name appeared on the National Elections Commission (NEC) progressive provisional listing on Monday July 17, 2017 as a Representative candidate for Nimba County electoral district#9 on the ticket of the Liberty Party (LP) as ‘accepted’.
In a communication to this paper, Sherman alleged that the NEC downplayed its earlier communication informing it of Dr. Slawon’s disqualification as per the National Code of Conduct.
“In our quest to have a peaceful and transparent election on October 10, 2017, I am calling on the NEC to rethink and consider denying the Director-General of Higher Education, Dr. Michael Slawon and also investigate him in line with the code of conduct,” Sherman said.
