Police in Sanoyea District, Bong County have charged a 19-year old man with murder for killing his girlfriend at about 5:45AM on Saturday August 6 in Volomenie town, Digmah Clan.
Sammy Moore was heard on Saturday morning at 5:45am crying in a loud tone that a man only identified as Mr. Brown who is also a resident of Volomenie had attacked their home and killed his girlfriend.
Residents of the Community in fear rushed to suspect Moore’s home and saw victim Menwoe Neine-Kpowa Kerkulah lying in a pool of blood with stains of blood on her boyfriend clothes and hands.
Local authorities in the area immediately contacted the police and observed some foul play in the murder of Menwoe Kerkulah and Sammy Moore was immediately held as a prime suspect.
Sammy Moore later admitted to the commission of the crime attributing his action to the refusal of his girlfriend to give reasons for using his Susu money in the tune of 7000 LD (seven thousand Liberian Dollars).
Sammy maintained that he has on countless occasions asked his girlfriend to provide his money but to no avail, which prompted him to murder Menwoe. Eye witnesses who spoke to our Bong County correspondent discloed that victim Menwoe Neine-Kpowa Kerkulah had earlier threatened to return to her mother in Salala based on fear of further confrontation from her boyfriend, Sammy Moore.
Miss Menwoe Kerkulah was ‘gruesomely’ murdered days prior to her return to Salala where her parent lives. Meanwhile, suspect Moore who is awaiting trial has pleaded for mercy saying he acted under frustration.
At the same time, Brown, the man accused earlier remains under police custody for further investigation.
