-Detaches Itself From PSDI Audit Report In The Media

The General Auditing Commission, (GAC) Liberia’s supreme audit institution, wishes to inform the public that at no time has the GAC provided any analysis, conclusion or opinion on the private sector development initiative (PSDI) draft audit report reported in the local media.

In a release issued Thursday, June 15, 2017 in Monrovia under the signature of chief communications officer George K. Barpeen, Jr., the GAC indicated that attributions and columns appearing in local newspaper publications regarding the PSDI draft audit report are the personal opinion of Mr. DwanaBakongoSesay, an employee of the GAC currently on study leave in the People’s Republic of China and does not in any way represents the professional opinion or conclusion of the GAC.
Mr. Sesay’s commentary, the GAC release maintained, is contrary to the commission’s policy and it is outside the scope of his employment. According to the GAC, at no time has the commission commented or issued an official position against the report in any form or manner.
