Before proceeding any further, May I ask you to stand with me in one moment of silence to the memory of fallen heroes and MOJA militants, in the struggle for change in Liberia. Let’s reflect on militants like Weewee Debah, Tonieh Richardson, Wuo Tappia, Philipe Powoe, Dr. Bangaly Fofana, Justice Ishmael Campbell, amongst many others.


Last week Thursday was the day that every Liberian and foreign nationals within the territorial boundaries of Liberia saw what appears to be the settling of the controversies at the House of Representatives that had reportedly stalled almost everything that has to do with development in the country.

People of Liberia; Ladies and Gentlemen of the Fourth Estate: Once again, I am constrained to address the people of Liberia through the press on the Global Witness Saga that have drifted to leadership and constitutional crisis in Liberia.


An important theme running through the many tributes made to Dr. Togba-Nah Tipoteh last week, as part of an historic symposium commemorating his 75th birthday, is the fact that during the 1970s he wore and popularized the now famous ‘Tipoteh Sandals’ – a brand of rubber sandals knitted out of discarded car tires.


Liberia was engulfed by a fatal disease it has never known in 2014. The Ebola Virus Disease was rapidly ravaging our nation and posing serious risk to its sovereignty.
