Welcome to plain Talk Sorry for the long stay away. I have been exercising on the soccer pitch. I have to play soccer at times to keep fit.

To start it all, here is a quotation from Jim John, a renowned international business man: “The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly. Jim Rohn.

One presidential aspirant whom I admire his quest for improving Liberian business establishment is Mr. Benoni Urey. Sincerely, he is one person who loves to venture into business at all levels. I support your business stand.

He has said over the years that he wants to be president because he wants to bring economic emancipation to the country. Not only that, but also, to improve the living condition of the people and restore dignity to the people and country.

But I do have problem with utterances that are made by some of his followers. The main person is Henry Costa. Cost has said that he supports Urey. That is the good thing I like about Costa; does not bite and blow. He expresses his thoughts.

I have been listening to various talk shows in the country for the past two years and more.

But one show I listen to at times is “The Costs Show”. The young man is smart and at times, some of his information are true. My first interaction with him was at a press conference at the Executive mansion in 2013.

He made some good points at that time.

From there, I became to follow him closely.

But one of my main problems with him however is insults he pours on the president of Liberia madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf at times on air.

I think one can be a talk show host and say facts or other words and move on without insulting a sitting leader. Not only a sitting president , but any citizen for that matter.

The Plain Talk is, would Mr. Urey be ready to take in heap of insults from any Talk Show host if he was the president tomorrow? Certainly I say no way!

For me, it is very essential to bring to bed some level of respect to the presidency. Even if you do not love the president, that is the person who was elected by popular votes.

Tell me something here. Urey knows that such utterances would not have been made on air against his former boss and president, Charles Taylor. Oh no! That person would not dare open up in any way to say such.

The Plain Talk is Mr. Urey, you know and I know that under no condition that Costa would have hurled insults at Ghankay Taylor.

Let me bring it down here to you. To be honest, you know how ‘wide’ you can become at times when you become angry.

The plain Talk is Mr. Urey, you will not allow any form of insult to be placed at your door steps if you were president of Liberia.

What I am driving at today is for you to speak to your supporters not to get into such politics. Yes, they can look at issues, and talk about it, but to dwell on individual and insults, it will not help in anyway.

If this trend continues, it will be said that you, Mr. Urey sanction all that he says. That will not be a good record. Certainly, they will point at you.

I leave you with these words:

“A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves”. —Lao Tzu

Until then, I see you next week.
